VTS Intralogistics

Software for intralogistics systems

Machines, controls and higher-level systems need to work together as one. VTS Intralogistics develops and integrates the software that makes this possible.

From PLC software to a Warehouse Control System and integrations with WMS and ERP systems. Always tailored to the installation and the logistics process.

The VTS Intralogistics Standard

More configuring,
less programming

We work with our own standard for PLC software. Within it, we keep building standardised modules for common components such as conveyor lines, drives and sensors.

Less programming A new project requires less programming from scratch. Existing software is reused and largely configured.
Faster commissioning Because a larger share is configured rather than programmed, testing and commissioning go faster.
Consistent structure A consistent software structure ensures better interaction between modules and components, and makes maintenance and troubleshooting easier.
Grows with you The standard grows with every new project and solution. What we develop can be reused in future projects.

Warehouse Control System

A Warehouse Control System (WCS) is the link between a higher-level software system and the automated installation.

The WMS or ERP determines what needs to happen logistically, for example that a pallet has to move from location A to location B. The WCS coordinates how the installation carries this out: which machines and routes are needed. The PLC and machine controls then perform the physical movement.

What a WCS does

From order
to feedback

VTS develops the WCS to match the existing technology and logistics processes.

Processing transport orders The WCS receives orders from the higher-level system and distributes them across the installation.
Selecting routes and machines The WCS determines which machines and routes are needed to carry out an order.
Monitoring product flows Ongoing transports and product or pallet flows are tracked and monitored.
Reporting status Statuses and completed movements are reported back to the higher-level system.

Case study: CB

For CB, VTS developed a WCS that acts as the central hub between the WMS, conveyors, five stacker cranes and the user interface.

Among other things, the system creates crane orders, sends them to the right crane and at the same time monitors pallet movements across the conveyor system.

Integrations with WMS and ERP

Information flows
in both directions

VTS develops integrations with WMS, ERP and customer- or industry-specific software, for example Astro by Consafe Logistics and Exact. This means orders and results no longer need to be transferred manually between systems.

1. WMS / ERP Issues a transport or production order.
2. VTS software / WCS Processes and distributes the order.
3. PLCs, machines and robots Carry out the physical operations.
4. WMS / ERP Automatically receives the status and feedback.

Modular and suitable for retrofit

VTS software can be built in a modular way. This means individual components can later be adapted, expanded or replaced without having to redevelop the entire system.

That makes the approach suitable not only for new installations, but also for retrofit projects in which existing machines and controls are retained.
